Are you ready for a life-changing experience in Portugal? Join our long-term European Solidarity Corps project in the welcoming village of Arrouquelas, and become part of our vibrant local community.

This project can last up to 12 months and welcomes volunteers from different countries who are over 18 years old. The official language of the project is English, and participants will have the chance to learn Portuguese according to their motivation and interest.

Our main goal is to develop solidarity and promote active citizenship, encouraging interaction between young people and the elderly population while contributing to community life.

🌱 What Will You Do

Volunteers will take part in diverse socio-cultural, educational, and environmental activities, such as:

  • Supporting children after school hours with creative and educational workshops.

  • Promoting intergenerational dialogue and activities between youth and the elderly.

  • Assisting at “O Ninho” Special Education Center, developing inclusion projects for people with disabilities.

  • Contributing to “Naturidade” Care Unit by organizing recreational and motivational activities for the elderly.

  • Supporting leisure activities in local schools and helping at St. Vincent de Paul Society in distributing food and essentials to local families.

  • Taking part in the “Rio Maior Refood” project, helping to collect and distribute food to people in need.

Volunteers will also be encouraged to develop their own ideas and initiatives, promoting the values of solidarity, empathy, and inclusion.

🏡 Living Conditions

Volunteers will live together in a shared house in Arrouquelas, fully equipped with all necessary amenities. They will share kitchen duties, help maintain the garden and farm, and participate in ecological practices such as waste separation and recycling.

Pocket money and food allowance are provided according to the ESC program standards. Transportation to work camps and local activities will be covered by the hosting organization.
